12 Aug 2010 - Indycars :
B-Weekly Indycar round-up: With the entire race going green at Indianapolis, the Caldas pair worked the draft together to jump late race leader Dariusz Maksajda for Filipe to lead home from Carlos, in typical Indycar fashion the top 3 were covered by just 00.208 seconds.

It was a different story at Road America with Ian Smythe almost lapping the field on his way to victory, only Carlos Caldas managed to stay on the lead lap to come home 2nd with Andrew Jones rounding out the top 3.

Finally the Indycars ran under the lights at Milwaukee with Jim Turner surviving an early race spin to claim victory, Ian Smythe came in 2nd just 00.287 seconds back with Carlos Caldas rounding out the Podium.

This week sees the series run at Cleveland Airport temporary track followed by the fastest race of the year at Michigan International Speedway.

29 Jul 2010 - Indycars :
The high speed multi discipline Indycar series made it's debut at V8 Thunder last Monday with a double header at Portland International Raceway and Homestead-Miami Speedway. At Portland a bizarre set of circumstances led to Carlos Caldas taking victory in the opening round. Ian Smythe lead the first 9 laps until blowing his engine, Dariusz Maksajda then took over the lead position before relinquishing it to Jack Keithley on lap 18, but as soon as Keithley got into the lead his clutch failed letting Maksajda back past to presumably cruize to victory, however in a cruel twist of fate Maksajda also blew his engine literally coming through the last corner in sight of the finish and was left to coast over the line while Caldas nipped past for the win.

Homestead was a far less hectic race, after an initial 2 early yellows to clear up after Keithley crashed in turn 4 on the opening lap and to sort out a restart problem, the race run for 41 laps under green with the top 4 swapping places almost every lap, the top 4 never being separated by more than a few tenths at 220mph! A late race yellow saw the race end under caution, with Dariusz Maksajda making up for the heartache of Portland by taking the win, Ian Smythe was second with V8 debutant Alex Arzamasov finishing the top 3. Dimon Borisoff and Paulo Duleba had V8 career best finishes with 4th and 5th respectively and Andrew Jones rounded out the top 6 after picking up damage avoiding the opening lap accident.

The series returns next Monday for it's only double length race of the season at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

01 Jun 2010 - Indycars :
Following the recent success of V8Thunder's Indy 200, the league has decided to sanction a brand new Indycar Series. The series will use a V8Thunder made Indycar mod. This will give each driver a six-speed, open wheel beast capable of speeds over 200 Mph. The series will run 6 rounds, each round comprising a road course followed by an oval. These races will be about 100 miles each, with the exception being the Indianapolis round, which will be 1 race for 200 miles around the Brickyard. The schedule features some of the greatest tracks from the glory days of the 1990's, including the great American road courses of Laguna Seca and Road America, the temporary circuits of Long Beach and Cleveland and classic ovals such as Milwaukee and Michigan.

In order to provide a level playing field, we are running fixed setups this season with full hardcore mode (fixed cockpit views, no driving aids). The season will run Monday Nights, qualifying begins at 20:00 UK time (21:00 CET - 15:00 ET) and the action commences July 26th with Portland International Raceway and V8Thunders first daytime into night race at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
