V8THUNDER LICENCE SYSTEM

Introduction

The V8Thunder Licence System is an attempt to formally define which members can participate in which series. Three licence levels exist, each one permitting members to participate in different series. All members have been assigned one of these licences (based on their current series participation and invites). As such, the majority should find that this new licence system makes no difference to the series in which they had already planned to participate.

Level 1 Licence

Grants access to: Lites

No access to: Trucks, Inters, Trophy

Level 2 Licence

Grants access to: Lites, Trucks

No access to: Inters, Trophy

Level 3 Licence

Grants access to: Trucks, Inters, Trophy

No access to: Lites

What is my licence level?

A full list of members and their licence levels can be found here.

How do I gain a higher licence?

Level 2 licences are awarded to Level 1 licence holders who have shown that they are ready to move up to a more challenging series, with open setups, no driver aids and faster/more experienced competitors.

Level 3 licences are awarded to Level 1 or Level 2 licence holders who have shown that they have the ability to race safely with open setups based on a less forgiving physics model.

Following a licence upgrade, drivers will be given a six race probabation in their new series. During this time, if a driver picks up 100 penalty points or more, the licence upgrade will be removed with immediate effect.

How do I gain a lower licence?

It is not anticipated that anyone will ever want to reduce their licence level. However, should a member wish to do so, they should contact an admin via PM and explain their reasons for the request. A lower licence level MAY be awarded at the admins' discretion.

Will my licence level ever be reduced?

It is possible that the admins may reduce a member's licence level if their standard of driving has been consistently below what is expected from someone of that level.

At the discretion of the admin team, the following may result in a licence downgrade:

* Race suspension within six races (for driver, not of season)
* A second race suspension within six races (for driver, not of season) of first

The following will result in a licence downgrade:

* A third race suspension within a season

Why do I not have a licence level?

The admins will strive to keep the list of licence holders up-to-date. This may not always be possible as new members join the forum all the time. If anyone wishes to participate in V8Thunder and is not included on the licence list, they should contact an admin via PM who will then determine the appropriate licence level. New members wishing to race in Trophy should have their application supported by a previous league and/or at least two current V8Thunder L4 licence holders.
